BOD Fitting Out Dinner 2 May 2020 – Booking Now Open!

We are delighted to confirm that the 2020 season will get off to a flying start with the BOD Fitting Out Dinner, which will take place on Saturday 2 May from 7pm at Brightlingsea Sailing Club.

Our organising team have a fantastic evening planned featuring a delicious three course meal by Lexden Crown Event Catering (who have created such delicious food for the recent BSC Laying Up Suppers) and an after dinner speech by BOD legend and raconteur extraordinaire Keith Clubb. Our event decor fairies will also be on hand to ensure the venue looks fab too!

2020 is shaping up to be a brilliant season for the fleet with Matt Crittenden joining us to race for the first time with March Hare and a brand new team racing Never Say Never (you will get to meet them at the dinner!). We will also see several other boats back racing regularly this season after short breaks including Fi Brown’s Grethe. Although probably not out for this season, Pete Kyne is hard at work restoring Black Shadow with Malcolm’s help and he definitely will be with us for 2021.

So please, all BOD sailors and friends, join us at BSC on Saturday 2nd May to celebrate the start of a great new season and welcome our new members.  The dress code is jacket and tie for the gentlemen and dinner dresses/evening trousers and pretty tops for the ladies. Tickets cost £27.50 each and can be booked online here. Payment details are on the booking form and all tickets must be paid for in advance. Bookings will close on Sunday 26 April but with only a limited number of spaces you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

The menu options for the dinner are:

Chicken liver parfait
Prawn fishcakes
Tomato and mozzarella salad

Chicken pie with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Normandy pork in an apple and cider jus with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Oven baked peppers stuffed with risotto on a tomato sauce

Lemon tart with cream
Chocolate and orange tore
Eaton mess
Cheese board (£3 supplement)
