The BODOA are delighted to offer for sale C43 Endeavour and C24 Nan. Both boats are in ready to sail condition but would benefit from refit work as they have been little used for many years. Having competed in recent Pyefleet Weeks both boats have proved themselves to be good competitors and are being offered at favourable prices to encourage a rapid sail. We are keen to keep both boats racing with the fleet in Brightlingsea and preferential terms are available to anyone who will commit to keeping the boats here. The details for the boats are:
C43 Endeavour (Formerly White Rabbit – with sail number 11 above) – Built 1957 by GR Bligh of West Mersea. Standard wooden clinker construction known to have been stripped and re-fixed with epoxy and redecked circa 2010. New shape aluminium Z-spar mast, galvanised launching trolley, full set of sails £3,500.
C24 Nan – Built 1950 by James & Stone at Brightlingsea. Standard wooden clinker construction, professionally restored with raised floors and floor boards in 2005 / 06, new deck, mahogany bright work and epoxy throughout. Original spruce mast, galvanised double axel launching trolley, full overall on land cover, full suit of sails £4,500.
Both boats are currently lying in Brightlingsea and are readily available for viewing. Please contact BODOA Class Secretary Fiona Brown on fiona.brown@fionabrown.com or 07711 718470 for further information.

Now that the fleet has finally found it’s way to the water we hope to see another great turnout for Wivenhoe Regatta which is fast approaching on Saturday 6th July. The organisers have sent through the Notice of Race which you can
Congratulations to Danny Fox and the Mersea Boys who raced Egret to a very close and exciting finish at Rowhedge Regatta on 22 June 2019. Gritter and the Never Say Never lads had led the race from the first mark thanks to a good start and a rather jammy lift which took them into the first mark to seaward around the outside of the fleet. As they turned and headed up river Never Say Never had a comfortable lead, but as they came through Wivenhoe Egret and Windsprite, being helmed by Dave Conlon, had caught them up. The final stage into Rowhedge was a superb battle with Egret just getting the upper hand right on the line.
We have now received confirmation from CYC that the Trophies for their special 100th Anniversary Race, which had to be cancelled on 8 June because of gales, will now be sailed for on the same day as the Colne Salver Mini Series on Sunday 30th June.
